Mt Kenya is a spectacular location to fish for both Rainbow and Brown Trout. There are a number of streams that have both Rainbow and Brown trout. The Lakes are mostly stocked with Rainbow trout that are know to grow to record sizes.



Getting there:

If you are initially travelling from Nairobi then it’s easier to drive directly to the road head and begin the trek.

If you are staying in Nanyuki before hand then it’s easier to drive directly to the road clockwise around the the mountain. We have a vehicle that is available to transfer you from your desired location.


Option 1- Trek and Fish

5 Day Trek and Fish

Nithi River, Lake Elis, Lake Michaelson

Itinerary:

Day 1: Road head to Urumandi Camp site.

Fish The Nithi River

Day 2: Urumandi Camp (2600m) site to Lake Ellis (3460m).

Fish on Lake Elis

Day 3: Lake Elis to Lake Michaelson (4000m)

Fish Lake Michaelson

Day 4: Lake Michaelson

Fish Lake Michaelson or summit Point lenana

Day 5:

Walk down back down to the Chogoria Gate

Option 2- Camp and Fish

Day 1: Drive to the Chogoria Gate and trek drive to the first camp

Evening fishing on the Nithi River
