Mount Kenya- Guides- Elijah

My oldest brother, who was in an outdoor Expeditions career, triggered my outdoor passion when I was still young. Having done several camping trips in the lowlands, he invited me to join his expedition to Mt Kenya in 1999. This was my first major outdoor experience.I was spellbound by the scenery, different climate zones, the flora, fauna and magical formations on the mountain.

Completing my secondary level year in 2001 I had fully grown my passion in the outdoor activities, mountaineering in particular.

I started my career as a porter, joining various outdoor related projects and groups, ie. Nature Kenya, Kenya Red Cross mountain group, National Museums of Kenya among others. This was a great kickstarter to my future goal of working as a mountain guide.

After being involved in various projects in the country under National Museums of Kenya, I started building my qualifications in 2005 by joining various outdoor institution\workshops and seminars in Kenya and Tanzania.

Since then, I have guided countless expeditions across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
